This Privacy Policy explains how FieldOps Pty Ltd ("FieldOps", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use the FieldOps mobile and web applications and our website at fieldops.app (the "Service"). FieldOps is operated from Australia and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email, mobile number, business name, ABN, password (stored hashed).
- Customer and job data — customer names, addresses, contact details, job descriptions, photos, quotes, invoices and notes you create in the app.
- Payment information — handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Support correspondence — emails, chat messages and screenshots you send to support@fieldops.app.
Information we collect automatically
- Device + usage data — device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, anonymous usage metrics (which screens are opened, in-app errors).
- Approximate location only when you enable photo geotagging or use map features.
- Cookies on the website — strictly necessary cookies for the site to work, and a single anonymous analytics cookie (Cloudflare Web Analytics, no personal identifiers).
2. How we use it
- Operate, maintain and improve the Service.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts from unauthorised access.
- Process payments via Stripe and produce tax-compliant invoices.
- Send transactional messages — invoice emails, password resets, service notices.
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
- Comply with legal obligations (e.g. ATO record-keeping requirements).
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train third-party AI models.
3. Who we share it with
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) — hosting and storage, in the
ap-southeast-2(Sydney) region. - Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd — payment processing.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — subscription billing, where applicable.
- Cloudflare — DNS, CDN and edge security; anonymous web analytics.
- Australian authorities — only when legally compelled (e.g. court order, subpoena).
4. Where your data lives
Customer data is hosted on AWS in Sydney, Australia. Backups are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and stored in the same region. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
5. Your rights
Under Australian privacy law (and equivalents in other jurisdictions where applicable) you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct — ask us to fix anything that's inaccurate.
- Export — download your customer, job and invoice data as CSV at any time, including on the free tier.
- Delete — request deletion of your account. See Delete account for instructions.
- Complain — to us first, then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you're not satisfied with our response.
6. Retention
We retain account data while your account is active. After account deletion, data is removed from production systems within 30 days. We retain limited financial records (invoices, payment receipts) for 7 years as required by the Australian Tax Office.
7. Children
FieldOps is not directed at people under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
